AI is everywhere, also in energy storage. As you can read in our newsletter, IEMAP is an example of this. And that’s a positive evolution. The faster we can develop more efficient storage solutions with less or no critical raw materials, the better. After all, climate change does not wait for us to find solutions.

Also, the IEA is speeding up. Some new coordination groups were recently established. The aim is “to provide a flexible mechanism for enabling TCP collaboration and outputs”. The topics should be transversal so that multiple TCP’s need to collaborate. Our Energy Storage TCP is leading the coordination group on flexibility. There are multiple ways to add flexibility to the energy system and storage is one of them. If you are interested in participation, the next meeting is in Rome on the 15th-17th of May. Please contact us if more information is needed.
